How your wages are figured
Your weekly wage is your daily wage times the number of days normally worked. If you usually work fewer than five days or irregular days, the days worked in the last 26 weeks are averaged. If you worked for two or more employers at the time of injury, all of those jobs count.
How long it can last
TTD can be paid for up to 130 weeks in total (unless you are in an approved retraining plan). It stops earlier if you return to work, are released to work with no restrictions, refuse suitable work, withdraw from the labor market, or 90 days after you receive a report that you have reached maximum medical improvement. After 52 weeks of TTD, the insurer must tell you in writing about the 130-week limit.
TTD pays 66 2/3% (two-thirds) of your gross weekly wage at the time of injury. For injuries from October 1, 2026, through September 30, 2027, the most you can get is $1,594.08 a week (108% of the statewide average weekly wage) and the least is $318.82 a week, or your actual weekly wage if that is less. For injuries from October 1, 2025, through September 30, 2026, the limits are $1,536.84 and $307.37. The limits change every October 1.
From October 1, 2024, the weekly maximum became 108% of the statewide average weekly wage (it was 102%), raising it to $1,481.76; it is $1,536.84 from October 1, 2025, and $1,594.08 from October 1, 2026. Minnesota law now calls the former Office of Administrative Hearings the Court of Administrative Hearings, where compensation judges hear claim petitions.
