Weekly benefit in Colorado
What it pays
Two-thirds of your gross (before-tax) wages
Maximum
$1,464.12 a week (July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027)
Minimum rule
Colorado's law sets no minimum weekly amount for temporary total disability. A low-wage worker receives two-thirds of his or her own average weekly wage.
Applies to
Injuries on or after July 1, 2026 (the maximum is set each July 1 and applies by date of injury)
How your wages are figured
Your average weekly wage is figured from all your wages at the time of injury, including overtime, vacation and sick pay, and earnings from any other jobs you had when you were hurt. If your employer stops paying for your health insurance, the cost of continuing it (COBRA) is added to your average weekly wage.
How long it can last
Temporary total disability continues until the first of these: you reach maximum medical improvement (MMI), you return to regular or modified work, your doctor releases you in writing to regular work, or your doctor releases you to modified work, the employer offers it in writing, and you do not start. Combined temporary and permanent partial disability payments are capped.
