How your wages are figured

Benefits are based on your weekly wages at the time of the injury from the job where you were hurt. If you were injured at a part-time job, benefits are based on that job only, even if you also have another job.

How long it can last

Temporary disability is paid while you cannot work and are under active medical care, up to 400 weeks. It usually ends when you are released to return to work in some capacity or reach maximum medical improvement (MMI). If you are released to light duty but your employer has no light work and you keep getting authorized care, benefits continue up to the date of MMI.

Temporary total disability pays 70% of your weekly wages at the time of injury. For injuries in 2026 the most you can get is $1,199 a week (75% of the statewide average weekly wage) and the least is $320 a week (20% of it). The limits are set each year for injuries in the next calendar year.
